Two researchers from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (Mexico), Luz Maria Lepe and Pedro Cardona, have visited CIDLeS in December. The main aim of this visit was the establishment of a scientific collaboration between Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and CIDLeS. In this sense, several working sessions were organized during which the researchers from both institutions had the opportunity to present their projects and exchange their experiences. The main topics discussed were:

  • Presentation of the master in Estudios Amerindios y Educación Bilingüe (MEAEB)
  • Presentation of the projects on Mixe, Otomí and Zapoteco
  • Language documentation (methods, theories and perspectives)
  • Language data processing (ELAN, Typecraft, Poio API)
  • Archiving (metadata and archives)
  • Lexicography (Toolbox, LexiquePro, Lexus; Bilingual Dictionary Piação – Portuguese)
  • Language technologies for under-resourced languages (Poio Writetyper, Poio Keys)
  • Revitalization (development of teaching materials, community-driven projects; WordByWord, Interactive Map of Minde, O Touquim Xaral)
  • Future collaboration and joint projects
