Community-driven documentation and description of A Fala

Miroslav Valeš from Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic) is guest researcher at CIDLeS in the framework of the Marie-Curie project Mobility MSCA Technical University of Liberec (CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/17_050/0008461) Community-driven documentation and description of A Fala. The project, which started in September 2018 and will last two years, is carried out in CIDLeS in collaboration with the Technical University of Liberec.

The project main goals are to document and describe Fala using primary data that reflect natural language use in the speech community. These will be collected in the form of audio and video recordings as well as texts comprising the three varieties of the language. The resulting multimedia database will enable a dictionary and sketch grammar compilation, while the recordings will also serve for language revitalisation purposes.
