Community-Driven Documentation and Description of A Fala

Objective

The project aims at documenting and describing A Fala, a language spoken in the North of Extremadura, Spain, with the use of primary data that reflect natural language use in the speech community. These will be collected in the form of audio and video recordings as well as texts, comprising the three varieties of the language. It is expected that the resulting multimedia database will contain about 200 000 tokens, which will enable dictionary and sketch grammar compilation, while the recordings will also serve for language revitalisation purposes.
