Endangered Languages: Comprehensive models for research and revitalization

Between 11th and 13th of June, Vera Ferreira and Rita Pedro will attend the international conference on Endangered Languages: Comprehensive models for research and revitalization in Wilamowice, Poland, bringing their experiences with the documentation and revitalization of Minderico to the discussion.

On the 12th of June, Vera Ferreira will give a talk on “The importance of language technologies in the revitalization of Minderico”.

Wilamowice, in southern Poland, is known because of Wymysorys — a severely threatened ethnolect and the only remnant of a former Middle High German language exclave. A number of revitalization initiatives have been taking place in recent years in the village.
